The US News and World Report Awards LaGuardia Gold Medal in Annual Ranking
The US News and World Report just recently awarded LaGuardia Arts a Gold Medal in their ranking of Best High Schools.  Out of the 21,000 high schools evaluated, the Top 500 schools received Gold Medals.  In their previous high school rankings published in 2012, LaGuardia Arts also received a Gold Medal.  U.S. News fifth edition of the Best High Schools rankings is available exclusively online.

A three-step process determined the Best High Schools. The first two steps ensured that the schools serve all of their students well, using performance on state proficiency tests as the benchmarks. For those schools that made it past the first two steps, a third step assessed the degree to which schools prepare students for college-level work.

The Gold Medal recognizes our work with all different populations within the school, including economically disadvantaged and minority students, and our efforts in preparing them for college.
